Today I’m announcing a giveaway for the Foolish Encounters anthology from Wilde City Press. I have a story
in this one, along with stories from Amy Lane, Angel Martinez, Elin Gregory,
Freddy MacKay, Tinnean, and J.C. Wallace.

Fun Fact: This anthology came about because of some 2014
April Fools foolishness. During a Facebook chat with Rainbow Book Reviews,
authors were asked to disclose their most outrageous ideas as prompts. My idea?
Well, because I have the worlds most perverted spider story sitting in my file
cabinet (never to see the light of day) I thought I’d toss the idea of spider
shifters into the fray. And wouldn’t you know… when readers were asked to vote
on which stories they wanted to see written, spiders made the list! Ack!
So I wrote "Well Hello, Eight Eyes," a story about a nice young man who gets washed up on a
mysterious island and meets a really cute and sweet guy. There’s just one
problem… the island is home to spiders the size of raccoons.
Believe it or not, it’s a cute meet story.
Needless to say, the entire anthology is filled with quirky fun.

So if you’d like to win an ebook copy of the Foolish Encounters anthology, take a look at this picture and tell me if you could
fall for this guy if in his human form he’s a cute redhead who wears glasses:
I don't know. He is cool looking. But you know what they say about redheads. And I have two sisters to prove it. Yeesh! But he does look cuter than my sisters too. LOL

I made him redhead because it suited the color scheme. :) But seriously... a spider is cuter than your sisters? 0_O
DeleteRedheads usually aren't my thing but I like his spider form so I'd probably make an exception. Spiders as big as raccoons? Definitely sounds interesting.

Gotta love big spiders! But if I saw one for real I would pick up the nearest weapon. In that case I would want the sword, not the pen.
DeleteI like my gingers, but the spider thing would be a hard sell. I'd be a total screaming schoolgirl if that came too close no matter how cool the pattern is. LOL
ReplyDeleteLOL. A reviewer told me the spiders freaked her out, so there's that as a downside. Yeah, I'd scream too. :)
DeleteWhat a colorful spider. Hard to get the spider part out of my mind, even if the guy is a cute redhead.
ReplyDeleteHe's adorable. And he does this cute mating dance. I linked to that in a post on MA Church's blog. But yeah... spider. That presents serious obstacles!
DeleteThat has got to be the most unique creature I have seen. As long as I knew I was sage around him, in that form, then I'd have no trouble with the spider. Now, as for the red head, as long as he fell for me as well, then of course I'd take him. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou'd be perfectly safe. In real life, that spider is the size of your littlest fingernail. Mine in the story are bigger for effect. As a kid, I played with tarantulas in the wild. Those are big, but I never felt endangered. They had more to fear from humans. And true, men who fall for us already have a lot going for them! :)
DeleteEven though the ginger I dated was a jerk, I'd give this guy a try even if he was a spider shifter. But I'm not into bestiality, so when he was like this, I'd just appreciate how pretty he is!

The story has no spider on human sex. I simply couldn't go there. Just guy on guy. But Tanner does get a chance to admire Cory in his spider form. :) He is very decorative, isn't he?
DeleteAnyone that colourful and fuzzy, has to be really fun and cuddly. A great combo! I'm not bothered by spiders and try to never kill them if I find one in the house. That said, I think spiders that size would freak even me out. So I'd stick to human form...//Puppilull
