Today I was kicking back and cleaning up my files and I found this:
"On Writing," by Robert Sawyer.
The essay lays out Heinlein's five rules for writing success. And they're dead on. A must read for any writer, but in particular for those aspiring to publish.

ReplyDeleteI don't write anymore so I'm one of the ones that dropped the ball, but I've been thinking about finishing the story I have going on Lit. It's been YEARS since I even thought about that story.

Glad to be of help, Mendy! I also stopped trying to publish for a while due to life events. This article is one of the things I went back to for inspiration. Finishing work is probably the biggest stumbling block.
